ABA Play - Phase 3aIn all our programs, we start by teaching the children to ask for the thingsTHEY want or need, for example food, ball, tickle, drink etc (we call this 'manding'). Many autistic children have problem behaviors such as hitting, screaming, throwing things etc., because they cannot ask for the things they want. When they can ask for these things, verbally or with signs or pictures, we see the problem behavior reduce and usually completely disappear. In this film we see how Jean-Baptiste learns to ask for things for the first time. He wants the ball and learns to say "balle" if he wants the ball.
